Teff Sourdough Bread Crumbs

Made from high protein Brown Teff Flour, these sourdough bread crumbs are a perfect for breading and adding to salads. They have a noticeably sour taste which adds some complexity to whatever dish they are used in.

Sourdough Starter Cultures

These starter cultures are grown gluten-free from the start without added yeast.
They are grown in my dedicated gluten-free facility on equipment that has never touched gluten.

I have found gluten-free flours to be delicate and prone to spoilage when fermented. "Boosting" them with a fermented product kick starts the bacterial/yeast activity and prevents spoilage.

Sourdough Starter Cultures: Brown Rice

This culture is grown with organic brown rice flour. One packet will boost a minimum of 4 new batches of starter.

In my book, Art of Gluten-Free Sourdough baking, I suggest using up one's starter and beginning another one when you need it. This way you begin with a fresh healthy starter each time, eliminating the possibility of mold or pathogenic bacteria in your bread.

You can, however, preserve a small amount of boosted active starter for the next baking day by freezing as freezing usually helps the starters very fresh. Instructions included!

To make the breads you need to acquire a Booster for the starter. Here are 2 options:

Option 1. You can purchase my own dehydrated Sourdough Starter Cultures. Each packet boosts 4 batches of bread. You begin a fresh, new starter whenever you need it and don't have to care for starters or boosters between baking days. You can easily carry these cultures with you if you travel.

Option 2. You can purchase a Water Kefir Culture from Cultures For Health. You only need to purchase this culture once and it will live and serve you for years. It is sent dehydrated and instructions are included for rehydration. It needs to be replenished at least monthly and has many uses besides boosting the starter.

Some people prefer the Water Kefir Culture because it has multiple uses while some people prefer my Sourdough Starter Cultures as no care of the booster is necessary between baking days.

Some people prefer having both on hand. My Sourdough Starter Cultures last 6-12 months in their dehydrated state.
